RITE Center

Mission

Every child matters and therefore, every teacher matters. The mission of the Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Development in Teacher Education (RITE) Center is to integrate ideas from different disciplines to produce and disseminate rigorous research-supported solutions to important teacher education challenges in the United States.

Our Vision

Our vision is to advance best practices in teacher education research and development through an interdisciplinary community of practice. The RITE Center integrates expertise from various disciplines to provide faculty and student researchers with essential support, fostering an innovative research and training environment. We promote excellence in scholarship and creative work, aiming for impactful solutions to challenges in teacher education. Our externally funded projects focus on attracting, preparing, and retaining profession-ready teachers in areas like special education, early childhood education, reading education, mathematics education, elementary education, and secondary education. Amid shifting trends in U.S. teacher education, the RITE Center aims to shape public policy and ensure effective teaching for every child.
